The first step in creating video is having a place to put it – and the king remains YouTube. Even if you don’t have your own videos to upload yet, it’s nice to have a YouTube account that you can use to comment on, favorite, or otherwise interact with videos.
If you already have a…

“Use video to market your massage practice!” I know you’ve heard me say it before… but it is true. Here is a short video showing how I uploaded a video to YouTube yesterday and got on the first page of Google less than 24 hours later. Don’t have the time or knowledge to make your…

In response to Promote Your Practice or Spa on YouTube, Lindsay Rom of Riverspointe Spa made the comment “We get many comments from our clients about how helpful the tour video is, as well as how informative our other videos are (re: Thai-Yoga, Ashiatsu, Warm Bamboo, etc.) In fact, one recent client mentioned that most of her questions and hesitations were addressed before she even stepped through our doors by watching the videos. She said she felt like she knew us already, and that helped her relax even more.” This made me curious so I went to their website (http://riverspointespa.com), where I immediately saw their link to take a video tour.

I did want to tell you that I enjoyed watching the video on how to record a video for you clients. I also enjoyed the subject matter (Reiki classes) as I am also a Reiki Master although I have to say I don’t always practice it but when I do it is so powerful and as in your eg. my clients definitely feel it too.
I also liked the way your video subject matter just flowed from section to section. It was a very thorough explanation and I appreciated the details you mentioned such as lighting and how to not move if you have to read a “sticky” note on your Mac or PC. And the importance of why you should not move. Kudos on a great video.

Hi Suzanne,
I’m glad you liked the video and the tips for lighting and using a cheat sheet. Do you use video for you business yet?

Such a newbie, and learning so much! It was great your video, telling about lighting etc. and certainly you were very natural. But where do you turn the camera on. Perhaps a really dumb question, but I must try it all out, and make a video for my site.
Many thanks.

Hi Susannah,
Thank you for your comment. I’m on a MAC so I just go into iMovie. Just below the Project Library, there’s a movie camera icon. Click on that and it walks you through what to do to start a video. I hope that helps. Let me know how it goes. ~Linda
