How to Create Friend’s Lists on Facebook
Apr 27th
Creating Friend’s List on Facebook can have several benefits: (1) keep track of friends, especially when your Newsfeed gets clogged as your Friend’s List grows, (2) save you time checking-in and (3) send targeted status updates to select friends.
In this step-by-step video tutorial, I show you 3 ways to create Friend’s Lists on Facebook.
What other ways do you use your Friend’s Lists? Share them in the comments so we can all learn something new.
Trade Your Website
Apr 22nd
Of course your website is incredibly clear and easy to use . . . to the person who created it! While you totally understand that “the magic center” is where someone goes to purchase your services, your potential clients may be left scratching their heads.
One of the most effective ways to get a wake-up call on the problems in your website is to watch someone actually use it. I can promise you’ll be surprised at where they go and the conclusions they jump to. Make sure to take off your defensive armor because I have to tell you, this can be an uncomfortable exercise!
What I want you to do is find a local friend or family member and ask them to use your website. The less familiar they are with your site and your massage business in general the better. Ask them to perform specific tasks and speak aloud their thought process as they do it. Instruct them to do whatever you would want a client to do on your site. Don’t give them any hints! The whole idea is to see if your website is easy enough to use to complete the task without guidance. Some examples:
- Find the services that I provide
- Find my phone number
- Sign up for my newsletter
- Have them pretend to make a Gift Certificate purchase
- Make an appointment (if you have an on-line scheduler)
You can also have them look through each page of your site and give their feedback on what they understand and what they find confusing. Again, remember to put your defenses down – this is valuable information!
Well how did it go? Did you ask a friend/family member to look at your site? Any surprises?
How to Link Your Facebook Page to Your Profile
Apr 13th
Are you missing out on some valuable Facebook real estate? With the new Facebook Profiles, your website URL is buried in the Contact Info of the Info tab. Depending on how much info you have put in your Employers, Education, Activities and Interests, you Contact Information could be quite a ways down on your page.
Will some people scroll down to find out how to get in touch with you? Some will, but some won’t. Wouldn’t it be great to have a way to tell people about your business right at the top of your page? Well, you can! Check out this step-by-step video on how to link your Facebook Page to your profile.
In the video, I also mentioned that I have a video that walks your through how to set up a Facebook Page. Check it out below.
How to Create a Facebook Like Box and Add it to Your Website
Apr 13th
Adding a Facebook Like Box to your Website or Blog can be a powerful marketing tool! Here are some of the ways:
1. Social Proof. When a person is on your website and they are logged into Facebook, it will show their friends if you elect to “show faces” of people who like your page.
2. Convenience. Allows people to like your Facebook Business Page directly from your website.
3. Allows people to do business the way they like to. As we all know Facebook can be a big time suck. If it is for a particular person, they may wish to avoid Facebook and check out what is happening with you on your website.
4. Exposure. People may not know you have a Facebook Page, especially if you don’t market it any other way.
Check out this video! It walks you through step-by-step how to create the Facebook Like Box and then add it to your website or WordPress blog.
Do you have a Facebook Like Box on your website or blog? Have you noticed a spike in “Likes” since you’ve done that.
